Food Done Better is the discovery platform for local, honest food.

Where it started

A few years ago I began to crave a new, tangible relationship with my food. One where I was more intimately connected with those who made it and how it was raised, grown or prepared. An intentional connection far beyond what scanning a barcode at the grocery store offers.

This form of authentic relationship, I had to come to terms with, had slowly been replaced by a conditioned numbness towards where our food comes from. One that fits into a (literal) box and conforms to the rigidness of our modern lives.

Right around this time, I made a big life transition and moved to Austin, TX.

In this new place I came to find I wasn’t alone in my thinking. Countless others shared a similar urge to reclaim their connection to food.

This growing interest I was seeing first-hand inspired me.

I sat with this idea for quite some time, researching to see what was already out there. There wasn’t anything that seemed up to the task.

In our modern age where almost everything has a proper home on the internet, I decided that it was about time a community-driven platform dedicated to local, honest food existed.

In mid 2025, after too much time tinkering, I took a leap, quit my full-time job, and began building.

And in 2026 I launched Food Done Better.

Our Mission

To reconnect people with real food.
