There are quite a few “Farm Directories” out there today. Most of them are unfortunately severely outdated. This includes permanently closed businesses, as well as businesses that have no place on a consumer-facing product.
And a lot of the newer directories simply take (scrape) this outdated data from the old sites and reuse it as their own with a fresh coat of paint.
The result is that today there are essentially 0 audited, trustworthy sites for consumers to rely on.
Our team has researched and added 1000s of farms, farmers markets, restaurants and food businesses.
Each are put through a pipeline of audits and reviews, both manual and AI driven (learn more below). This ensures businesses that don’t meet Our Standards get flagged and removed.
We continue to improve our research tools with the goal of providing proper coverage to the entire US and Canada.
When a community member submits a listing, the same review protocol kicks off. We trust what our community has to contribute, but also want to make sure our directory is filled with listings that meet our standards.
