How we operate
We are doing our best to make sure high-quality, honest, well-intentioned businesses get added to the platform and that everything else gets filtered out (or flagged as not meeting our standards).
Ultimately, our goal is to point you, our users, to reputable businesses that are trying to elevate how food is produced.
It’s simply not black and white
The platform we are building promotes businesses of all kinds.
Farms, restaurants, grocers, butchers, bakers, markets, fisheries, cheesemakers, beekeepers etc.
Every single one of these businesses operates differently. That is why a standardized rubric system would never work. We’ll leave that up to the certifications.
Instead, we look to the following values, which range from animal and land stewardship, to health-related concerns, nutritional value, fair employee practices, sourcing practices, tradition preservation, and community involvement.
